I know, I know. Bad picture. D:

Anyway, this was my final project in my first metals class. The assignment was to make a pendant series using the die press to get the round domed shapes out of irregular forms. So.. I did that, and this is what came of it. x3

The coloration difference came from a chemical patina called Liver of Sulfur. It makes the metal darker the longer it sits. I also heat patina'd the one on the left, which comes from heating it with a torch and not cleaning the metal.

Made with silver and copper with bought chain.

All three are eceptionally stunning. So many fun details to look at in the shapes and patinas. I think I am drawn to the one in the middle most. It looks ancient symbolic, maybe even steampunk (which I am fond of in spite of my age). Practically speaking, I see that one on the left gettting the little curls caught on something all the time.

it is a bad photo (check out ~IIDenator's tut on good photos w/bad cameras - [link])
but the designs are lovely! i hope to get back into metalwork someday soon.....(no studio available for me right now.....)
