Artist's Comments

This was the final project in illustration this semester. Even though it was a rush job, I think the project was pretty fun. We picked a fortune cookie out of a box and illustrated it.

My fortune cookie says: "A quiet evening with friends is the best tonic for a long day."

So here I am with my two pets (who actually wouldn't sit on a bench like that if their lives depended on it. The cat would probably be rolling in the bush and the dog would be trying to eat her while she does it. Dx ) And those who know me might be thinking, "Where's your boyfriend?" Well, he wouldn't fit on the bench and having an odd number of characters is more aesthetically pleasing. I like to think he's taking the picture. ;]

He's got a whole book of art I drew about him, so he ought to not complain. xD

But anyway, done all digitally and it took abouuuut... 6-7 hours? Sounds about right.

Even though yours seem much happier, this picture reminds me a bit of the covers of The Birthday Massacre CD albums. :]

The colour is so serene, and the textures in the sky and ground are perfect. I love the bench too, the details are beautiful. Great job for something rushed, I could look at it for a long time. :)A very good note to end the year on!
